Meet Barbara S. Liftman
Barbara Liftman has been practicing all aspects of family law, civil litigation and transactional work in Massachusetts since 1991. After fifteen years with a general practice law firm in Worcester, she has been a sole practitioner since 2006.
Barbara divides her time between Worcester, Boston, Plymouth & Cape Cod. Her Worcester practice focuses on contested litigation of cases including divorce, paternity, custody, personal injury, employment and business law, appeals and guardianship. She also handles residential and commercial real estate transactions for buyers and sellers, estate planning and business formation. In Boston she has also chosen to focus on taking the “nasty” out of divorce by helping couples who have decided to part ways amicably work out the details to dissolve their marital partnerships.
Ms. Liftman is a cum laude graduate of Brandeis University and Suffolk University Law School. She is actively involved in the Riverview School and the Special Olympics. She is a single parent and has first-hand experience with divorce, co-parenting, blended families and the complex emotions that go along with divorce and starting over. It is the blend of her many years of experience in the courtroom and her personal challenges that fuel her desire to help couples avoid the uncertainties, acrimony and expense that go along with contested divorce.
